Empire of Disease is a metal band hailing from Bilbao (Basque Country), founded in 2018 by drummer Iban Hernando. After several lineup changes, they solidified a stable formation by the end of that same year.
They began performing live in January 2019, coinciding with the production of their first EP, "Silence is Violence", a self-released work featuring five tracks, launched in June of that year. Following its release, the band embarked on the "Dementia! Tour", covering the northern regions of the Iberian Peninsula and France. Remaining dates — including Portugal and other Spanish cities — were canceled due to the global health crisis.
In March 2021, Empire of Disease signed with the international label Wormholedeath to release their debut studio album, "With All My Hate" (June 25, 2021). This record enabled them to undertake an extensive tour, the "Among Ruins Tour", with 38 dates across five European countries, along with performances at festivals such as Iberian Warriors Metal Fest and Halloween Metal Fest.
In 2023, the band signed with the Spanish label Xtreem Music for their second album, "Shadows in the Abyss", released on November 7 of that year. With this album, Empire of Disease not only completed a successful European tour but also achieved a major milestone in 2024: 50 concerts in two years and a performance at one of Spain’s most important metal festivals, Resurrection Fest 2025, cementing their status as one of the most promising bands in today’s scene.
The band released their new album on March 19, 2026, and will performing it live across Europe ever since.

Empire of Disease es una banda de metal originaria de Bilbao (País Vasco), fundada en 2018 por Iban Hernando (batería). Tras varios cambios en su formación, a finales de ese mismo año lograron consolidar una alineación estable.
Iniciaron su trayectoria en directo en enero de 2019, coincidiendo con la producción de su primer EP, "Silence is Violence", un trabajo autoproducido que incluía cinco canciones y fue lanzado en junio de ese año. Tras su publicación, la banda emprendió el "Dementia! Tour", una gira por el norte de la Península Ibérica y Francia, cuyas fechas restantes —incluyendo Portugal y otras ciudades españolas— fueron canceladas debido a la crisis sanitaria global.
En marzo de 2021, Empire of Disease firmó con el sello internacional Wormholedeath para lanzar su primer álbum de estudio, "With All My Hate" (25 de junio de 2021). Este disco les permitió realizar una extensa gira, el "Among Ruins Tour", con 38 fechas en cinco países europeos, además de participar en festivales como el Iberian Warriors Metal Fest y el Halloween Metal Fest.
En 2023, la banda firmó con el sello español Xtreem Music para la producción de su segundo álbum, "Shadows in the Abyss", publicado el 7 de noviembre de ese mismo año. Con este trabajo, Empire of Disease no solo realizó una exitosa gira por Europa, sino que en 2024 alcanzó un hito en su carrera: 50 conciertos en dos años y una actuación en uno de los festivales de metal más importantes de España, el Resurrection Fest 2025, consolidándose como una de las bandas más prometedoras de la escena.
La banda lanzó su nuevo álbum el 19 de marzo de 2026 y lo estará presentando en directo con fechas por Europa.
